Vegan Enchilada Sauce [oil-free]

As a family we love eating a ton of different Mexican dishes, but we always have a problem finding great tasting oil free sauces to go well with our meals.

This is especially true in the case of enchilada sauces, most are filled with oil and a full list of ingredients used for preservation purposes. So when I was coming up with my easy enchilada sauce I wanted to ensure it was definitely oil-free, vegan & delicious, but I also wanted to make sure it had a small list of ingredients.

I originally created this enchilada sauce to be used in my plant-based enchilada bake, but it can be used in any dish that would call for an enchilada, taco, or hot sauce.

Vegan Enchilada Sauce [oil-free]


Description

Making your own vegan enchilada sauce is extremely easy and best of all it can be made completely oil-free and whole-food plant-based!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • 8 oz tomato sauce

  • 2 tbs chili powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp ground cumin


Instructions

  1. Blend all of the ingredients together on medium-high speed for 1 to 2 minutes.
