Chocolate Kale Smoothie

I do not know when it started but some time ago I began to make Sunday mornings the time I would go out and pick kale. And now that we are living in a much more enjoyable climate, I have had the opportunity to go out to the garden and harvest kale all winter long. The end result of my kale picking has become my Sunday morning smoothie ritual.

I find that on days like Sunday when I have a busy morning ahead of me, it is nice to be able to have a quick breakfast that can be enjoyed on the go. I personally really enjoy the flavor of cocoa with my kale smoothie, but you can always add in any other flavorings that you would also prefer.

This easy vegan Chocolate Kale Smoothie is a simple and delicious way to start your morning with a healthy plant-based breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces kale

  • 3 cups water or plant-based milk

  • 2 ripe bananas (frozen)

  • 2 tbs cacao or cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Place all of the ingredients into your blender. Blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes.
