Vegan Sweet Heat Pizza

Vegan Sweet Heat Pizza

Growing up one of the things I used to always look forward to was pizza night. My parents would let up pick whatever toppings we wanted and then as a family we would make the pizzas and pick out a movie to watch while they were baking.

As great as the memories were that we made over those pizza nights, the damage to our physical health was probably just as great. This is why I think it is so important that we have great whole food plant-based options available for those who want to start or continue a pizza night tradition while eating a vegan diet.

I will say my sweet heat pizza is a recipe that Dr. Miller and I enjoy once every week or two, and it seemed to always be made when we have guests.

If you go ahead and try this recipe, let me know what you think and share a picture on my Instagram and Facebook page of how it turned out!

  • 1/4 cup pickled pepper pieces

  • 1 tsp sriracha

  1. Add all of the crust ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix until all of the ingredients have combined. Knead together for 2 minutes to 5 minutes or until the dough has “softened”. Allow the dough proof one of three ways

    1. Place in the fridge for 8 to 24 hours.

    2. Cover and set on the countertop for two hours.

    3. Place in the InstantPot on the “yogurt” setting for 30 minutes.

  2. While the dough is proofing, place all fo the sauce ingredients into a bowl. Mix together well until a smooth consistency and then set aside.

  3. Once the dough has proofed take it out and place onto a floured surface. Roll out into the size and shape of your choosing. Add sauce and toppings to the dough.

  4. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Transfer the pizza to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes depending on your size of pizza and thickness of the crust.
