How to Freeze Pumpkin for Nice Cream

How to Freeze Pumpkin for Nice Cream

The weather is cooling down, and the smells of pumpkin-spiced everything is quickly approaching. Now I love pumpkin spiced treats as much as everyone else, but I don’t like all of the unnecessary junk that accompanies it.

So I like making my own pumpkin flavored drinks and treats, and the base of these treats is a good pumpkin puree. Most of my pumpkin spiced drinks are a cold drinks, and I use a frozen pumpkin puree to achieve this.

I wanted to get a recipe and video out of how I like to freeze pumpkin puree to use in my pumpkin-spiced drinks that I will be sharing very soon.

Description

If you want to make your own pumpkin-flavored nice cream, the best way to start is freezing your own pumpkin puree.

Scale

Ingredients

3 cups pumpkin puree (freshly roasted or canned)

Instructions

Spread the pumpkin puree onto a clean ice cube tray. Make sure that the puree is evenly spread onto all of the ice cube cells.

Place the filled ice cube tray into the freezer and freeze overnight (8-12 hours).

Transfer the frozen pumpkin cubes to a freezer-safe bag or container for long-term storage.

Notes

You can pre-mix in your favorite nice cream ingredients (cinnamon, maple syrup, etc) before freezing the pumpkin cubes. This way all you need to do is blend together the cubes for a tasty bowl of nice cream.
