My wife, Dr. Miller has been making this split peas soup recipe for years and every time it tastes a little bit better.
Ingredients

2 pounds dry split green peas

1 large sweet onion

2–6 jalapeños
-
6 cloves of garlic
-
2 bay leaves
-
2 tsp oregano
-
2 tsp thyme
-
1 tsp basil
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
10 cups water
Instructions

Dice jalapeños & onion, and mince the garlic before adding them to the InstantPot.

Using the sauté setting, cook the jalapeños, onion & garlic with 1/4 cup of water for 5 minutes uncovered.

Place the rest of the ingredients into the InstantPot. Set the InstantPot to cook or 20 minutes on the manual or “pressure cook” setting.

Allow the InstantPot to naturally release before removing the lid. Find and remove the bay leaves before giving the soup a good stir before serving.
