Easy Vegan Cashew Milk

One of the hardest steps for a lot of people going plant based is giving up the dairy. We used to always go to the store and get a carton of almond milk, which is fine and WAY better than picking up a gallon of dairy milk.

One thing that we didn’t like was all of the ingredients that were added into the store-bought plant-based milk (but still way better than the hormones and cancer-causing compounds found in dairy). So we started making our own cashew milk. And over time I have got it down to the most basic form so that we can make whenever and wherever we want.

Description

By following this simple recipe, you can make your own healthy plant-based milk in under two minutes!

Ingredients

  • 32 ounces water (cold)
  • 2 tbs cashews (soaked overnight)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Add the soaked cashew and half of the water (16 ounces) into the blender. Blend on high speed for 1 minute.
  2. Add the remaining water and vanilla extract to the blender and blend for a final 30 to 60 seconds.
  3. Pour into a refridgerator safe container(such as a mason jar) and store for up to 5 days or until you re ready to use your homemade cashew milk.

Notes

Since you are not going to strain the blended cashew milk, once it has sat in the refrigerator you may notice some settling or separation. To remedy this, all you need to do is give the cashew milk a shake before using it.
