InstantPot Chickpeas

If you haven’t caught on yet our family loves beans. One of our favorite beans to cook and eat is chickpeas. We love making burgers out of them and I especially love adding them to my Southwest Spinach Salad and other healthy plant-based salads.

We used to buy canned chickpeas even after we had learned how to cook other beans like black beans and pinto beans easily in the InstantPot due to not being able to get the same consistent product.

With a little bit of trial and error, I was able to start making these chickpeas in the InstantPot with no trouble at all.

Description

Cooking chickpeas in a electric pressure cooker or InstantPot is a great way to save money, time and energy while enjoying these tasty legumes!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpeas (dry)
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Add all of your ingredients into the InstantPot and mix together.
  2. Set the InstantPot to cook for 30 minutes on the manual or “pressure cook” setting.
  3. Once the time is up, allow the InstantPot to release naturally before removing the lid.

Notes

Cooked chickpeas can be stored in the refrigerator inside of an airtight container for up to 5 days.
